The FIRST THING you neeed to do is LEARN HOW TO READ MUSIC.. If you can’t do THAT.. then you will never master playing it on the classical guitar.. or any OTEHR guitar, for that matter.

Um.. you DO know that you don’t need to play CLASSICAL music to play a CLASSICAL GUITAR.. right?.. I can play classical music on a STEEL GUITAR and ROCK on a CLASSICAL guitrar. I hope you aren’t one of those people who get all hung up with the TYPE of guitar and think it has to dictate the genre of music you will play on it.. BECAUSE YOU DON’T

Whatever you do.. LEARN HOW TO READ MUSIC FIRST.. that way you won’t be trying to learn music AND learn how to play a guitar at the same time.

It is frequently normal to get frustrated, trying to learn something. The best relief for this is to have a teacher, however another excellent way is to find another guitar player and learn it together. If one of you is farther along that is OK.
Don’t try and do it all in one day or even in a month. Set an attainable goal for the first day. On the next day make sure you still know what you learned before. when you are sure set another goal for the next day. Keep up with this and you will be surprised as how easy and quick it comes. There will be a few days when you don’t reach your goal. Ease back on your goal. You just took on more than you should have. No big deal.

It is normal to be stressed if you allow the tasks to overwhelm you. Take portions at a time and repeatedly practice until you feel comfortable with eight bars or so. Then move on to the next eight bars.

There is no need to rush yourself as you will only stress yourself out. We all learn a little here, a little there, a precept here, and a precept there. Don’t be hard on yourself. Instead, take the time to enjoy the moments of learning new concepts in music.

    I wish you much success.

    Of course.
I can read a bit but I can’t sightread. Meaning if you give me some sheet music I can’t sit & immediately know where on the neck the notes are. It takes me a lil bit to figure it out. Might not do for those who took Theory & Sightreading all 4 years of high school & then college but I think I’m better off than those who look at a treble clef & think its just a funny looking “S”.

Unless you have a recital in the next day or so, pace yourself!
Take a few bars & learn them. Forget the rest of the piece for the time being. When you can nail those 4 or 5 bars, move on & add another 4 or 5, then attempt to piece them together. Go that route & you’ll be more able to deal with learning the piece than thinking of it as one massive amount of musical notes.
