This is Lesson 2 on Reading Music. Homework Assignment: 1) Copy Guido’s picture on a piece of paper. [This gets zillions more brain neurons involved. It helps comprehension and retention.] 2) PLAY it three times every day WHILE following your own sketch, until you can play it quickly. Do not play by memorization. Do NOT think about the names of the notes even if you know them. Both defeat our purpose. The goal is to be able to choose any star on Guido’s picture and play the piano key that corresponds to it. I go directly from paper to piano. That’s why I’m a good sightreader. I have long known that many have a fear of learning to read music. Often the excuse for not learning is “I’m too lazy” or “I have no time”. Unless you can play by ear, not reading is impractical if you want to play the piano. Yes, piano scores can look intimidating. But if you understand the logic behind it, learning becomes simple and you will be able to play almost any piece if you PRACTICE. Thus this fictional series of stories to make learning fun. @bbdhrggl Well, in that case, perhaps the black stars represent nights in which Guido could only see the stars for a very brief period of time. The white stars represent nights in which Guido could see the stars shining for longer, and brighter.

@AnonymousViewer1 lol, no skipping ahead. Let’s all start with a blank slate and guess how the story develops. I have a plot, but if you have a fun idea make a comment. I might use it. xD

@luxurychoccie Black stars are quarter notes (held for less time), white stars are half notes (held for longer time).
