Sarah Lane asked:
I’ve been playing the trombone since 6th grade and I just never learned how to read my music. I play mostly by ear all the time but now that i’m in high school band it’s not working out that well. What do I do!?!

How to Read Music Notes
Well, keep in mind, Paul McCartney never learned to read music either, and I think he did alright for himself, don’t you?
But, it certainly doesn’t hurt to learn. I would say take a music theory class, but I honestly found it kind of boring and drawn out. You may just want to look a music theory books/websites and teach yourself. Ask your music teacher/band director. Chances are, if you’re in a band, I would have to think that there are plenty of resources available to you.

Learn How to Read Music
Go to the music store and buy a trombone method book (Book I) study it and do everything that it says. You may already own such a book from 6th grade.
After you have finished Book I get Book II.
As for Paul McCartney. He also said that he wished he had learned to read music.
