I’m planning on taking up the fiddle. I have lots of experience with music. My dad taught me how to read music and I’ve been playing guitar for a couple years, I also play a little bit of mandolin. Anybody have any advice, exercises etc?

Learning to Read Music
A fiddle is essentially a small-size violin. You’ll be holding it differently (under the chin) and running the bow against the cords to play. Start out gently and practice hitting the notes right. It’ll take patience switching from strumming to bow-playing.
