Hi asked:
I am in choir and don’t really understand everything my teacher says. So how do I know if something in the music is harmony(how does it look different from the melody on sheet music). And Does anyone know any good sites on which I can learn how to read music? Thanks in advance.

Learn How to Read Music Notes
When your looking at the music, there are three sets of 5 lines and for spaces. The top set is the notes the sopranos are singing, the middle set is the altos notes, and the bottom is the tenors. Harmony is when two groups are singing contrasting notes. If you don’t know the letter names, this will be kind of difficult for you to understand. If you look at one group’s part, and compare it with anothers, and the note on one word is higher or lower than the other it’s harmony. Reading the music isn’t necessary for choir if you can pick up your sections part by ear, if not, being able to differentiate about what note your singing does help.
