Please help me!!! I can’t read or write music but my teacher is making us learn how! I do not know how to write eighth notes on staff paper using a treble clef! What is a clef anyway? that thing that looks like a question mark when you first write music? And those eighth notes with the flags? Soooo confusing!!! If you can read/write music, please help me with this homework!! Tell me how to write eighth notes on staff paper. Please explain this difficult concept to me!

A treble clef is just a symbol to let you identify middle C on the staff. An eighth note (half the length of a quarter note, of course), represented by a filled-in circle with a single flag on the staff, can be placed either on a line or in a space. Just where you put them is up to you; if you own a piano or a keyboard, you can try them out.
