I’m taking a class where you learn how to read music ect. and there’s no point if I’m not able to play the music that I can read, or so I think. And I really want to learn how to play the guitar.

I’m really into alternative music, (weezer, audioslave, dave matthews band, OAR, sublime…) but not really metal.

I was wondering what kind of guitar I should get as a beginner, within a reasonable price.

Ibanez. They’re pretty, good quality, and cheap. :)

You need an acoustic guitar, preferably one that’s over $200. The cheap guitars are CHEAP and they are hard to play. If you have to get one under that , avoid Fender and Jasmine guitars.I tried the Jasmine by Takamine at a music store, because a lot of kids on here were thinking of buying one. Serious Junk, really hard to play.

Under $200 go Ibanez, Mitchell, Yamaha., Epiphone

(easiest to play and learn on though, is a nylon stringed classical guitar)

Only one guitar fits you. Acoustic guitars. They are the guitars used when you apply for guitar lessons. They are also used in alternative songs.
Try shopping around music stores with Acoustic guitars with no popular names, they are almost the same as popular brands and helps you to save some cash, but if you want real deal guitars, try some Ibanez like what the guy above said but they are expensive. I would recommend you to start with guitars with no names.

here is the prices if ibanez guitars
