I would start with a folk harp, just to learn fingering. Concert/pedal harps are very expensive. Folk harps are much more affordable. That way you can find out if it’s for you.

I learned from Teach Yourself to Play the Folk Harp by Sylvia Woods. I started when I was over 50, so you are hardly too old. You just have to be dedicated. You can learn music while you learn to play. The book teaches you some basic concepts as you go.

I started with a sharpsicle. Not sure you can get them in England.

Your never too young to follow a dream, and just if you WANT the music badly, and are striving for it, you would do all you can, so I guess you really just “want” to, because your slacking a little off and “trying” to find a harp or so, thinking you can get to the top in a week, you choose a teacher by a music school, don’t think its a elementary school where kids from 4-14 will greet you, no, people who are already 30 go there to begin, and that is where you will meet your teachers, if you want to be a musician, you have to work your butt off, its dosent happen overnight, sorry if I went a little harsh, its just you need to try all you can, tell your parents, and friends, maybe they can help you, after all, its what there for! And harps are probbably, maybe 400-600 dollars, as I see it for an average, good luck girl!
