The treble clef line notes starting at the bottom line go: E, G, B, D, F (Every, Good, Boy, Does, Fine) — the space notes go F, A, C, E — (Face). The bass clef lines from the bottom go G, B, D, F, A (Good, Boys, Do, Fine, Always) — the space notes go A, C, E, G (All, Cows, Eat, Grass). There is a fun game for recognizing these quickly available here: . It starts very easy and has multiple levels. Good luck!

I was able to find two video learning tapes for the guitar at the recycle shop. They show some of the hand-finger positions for chords. If you know no music at all try to get everything into the key of C to start with . Every song can be changed by using doh, ray, me and then into key of C.The piano lesson books are easy to find .

    How to Read Music Notes

you dont need to learn to read music to play guitar but if you are wanting to take it professionally its proably a good idea to start learning.

the scope of the topic is far to wide for a site like this, but to get you started here are a few tips.
reading music consists of two elements. pitch and rhythym

they rhythym is derived by what notes are on the stave and the pitch is derived by how high or low the notes are placed on the stave.

its probably best to find a good book on the topic, i bought one years ago called how to read music by terry burrows, it takes you from being a complete novice to some very complex ideas, i also taought my self, hey im no virutoso but i can read up to a grade 5…. ;)

anyway pm me if you want some ideas
