your going to have to re-learn.
well you don’t HAVE to but its better.
because a piano or a note player doesn’t have to help you so when you look at the page you just have it.
knowing how to read music is pretty easy.
and learning them all was one of the besxt things i could do with my schooling.

no i don’t and i’ve been singing for 10 years now and i’ve done broadway although it helps alot to know notes and its easy to learn you can learn the song from hearing it thats how i learn but i am learning to read notes now but for 10 years i didn’t.
Sight Reading Music
A lot of times, such as in my case, it comes back to their memory as they attempt to practice. I sang well as I’ve been told, when I was a little girl, before I knew a thing about musical notes. I think a person can unconsciously learn about notes & theory just by singing off of sheet music- especially in your case because of your previous training.

Learn How to Read Music Notes
All singers DON’T know how to read music, but they SHOULD. I am unclear how you can call yourself a musician if you don’t READ MUSIC, the language of your supposed art.
There are plenty of websites that offer help on music theory (reading notes). You can do a Google search for “music theory” or “reading music” to find more, but I’ve listed a few for you below. Don’t worry, if you’ve learned this stuff before, it may start to come back fairly easily.

No. I know some AMAZING singers who don’t know a note from the alphabet.
Singing well comes from great practice, and control.
Now.. If you’re singing chior music… you may need to know them… but for anything else you DON’T have too.
I sing, and I only sing by ear. I learn songs and sing them well without notes.
