I am 45 and have always wanted to learn the piano. I have now just aquired a book on learning to read music but it all seems so involved. I just want to know if anyone else found it easy or difficult at this time in their life. Thank-you.

Sight Reading Music
Nope
How to Read Music Notes
no, i don’t think it’s something easy to teach yourself at home you probably need to go get a piano teacher unless you’re just one of those people who are musically inclined and it just comes natural to you

Age is not the factor. Your ability to learn plays the key role.
I purchased a keyboard off of e-bay auctions. It is a casio 82 key keyboard with a stand up wooden console. What a blast I am having learning the notes adding special effects and learning more as each day passes. Do yourself the favor and take the time to learn. As you grow older your attention span is at 100%. Your ability to retain knowledge is also at 100%. Have some fun and learn on a keyboard before purchasing a Piano….They do offer both in one if you have the ability to afford it..

It’s not so hard once you’ve got the basic concept down. But if you are having trouble, you should get some piano lessons, even if you only take a few months of them. Trust me, once you have the basics down, you can play lots of songs at an easy level. Once you have those down, you can try harder songs, and keep going from there.
Good lucks and hope this helps!
