What is the easiest, CHEAP way to learn how to read Music?

I want to learn to read music and HOPEFULLY eventually learn how to play music on various instruments. But I don’t want to take a class because of the $$$. Does anyone know any GOOD, CHEAP way to learn how to read music?

    If I were you I would check dummies.com website… they have a book for almost everything… and the books and cd roms are usually not that expensive
