Blue Uke asked:
I know basically just common knowledge about like what are the components of a staff and stuff like that but nothing in-depth. Do you think the ukulele would be a cool thing to learn to play? I’ve always wanted to learn how to play a really low-maintenance instrument that I could just practice in my room and doesn’t annoy my family while practicing. I play a few songs on piano but just from learning where to put my fingers….
What would you recommend? I was thinking the ukulele. What do you think? Any advice would be great.

Piano for sure. I started with the piano, and you should too. It’s great as well, because then you can also learn the pitches of the notes. I now play the violin, and it was a lot easier to pick up because I knew the piano.

I played clarinet in middle school and it was really easy to learn, but I don’t know how easy it is for someone without a teacher.

You’re Great,
If you want a really low maintenance instrument go for the uke. Talk about easy!!! Four strings, simple chords, great conversation piece, take it anywhere, and play well into your senior years. It’s so easy once you learn a chord or two you’ll be teaching your friends.
Lanikai LU-21 or 21C are both good ukuleles to start with. –search-ukulele–srcin-1
