You're Great,
If you want a really low maintenance instrument go for the uke. Talk about easy!!! Four strings, simple chords, great conversation piece, take it anywhere, and play well into your senior years. It's so easy once you learn a chord or two you'll be teaching your friends.
Lanikai LU-21 or 21C are both good ukuleles to start with. --search-ukulele--srcin-1
Easy chords?
Easy lessons w/songs?
Have fun,

I played clarinet in middle school and it was really easy to learn, but I don't know how easy it is for someone without a teacher.

<a href="http://www.speedymusicreading.com/http://www.speedymusicreading.com/learn-how-to-read-music-why-does-it-take-so-long.html">How to Sight Read Music</a>

Piano for sure. I started with the piano, and you should too. It's great as well, because then you can also learn the pitches of the notes. I now play the violin, and it was a lot easier to pick up because I knew the piano.
