Some Guy asked:

Are there any books, websites, computer programs, videos, etc which present this in a particularly easy-to-understand fashion?

Please and thanks.

well it all depends on why you’re trying to learn to read music…if it’s for an instrument you just learn as you go along

The best thing to do is go to a music store and buy beginner books for the instrument you want to learn. They go through the best step by step processes.

If you want on offline program check out the Composer. It’s a pretty good program.

If you’d like something online, check out the site below. They’re saying you can even learn how to read music in under a week!

Also, before you decide anything, read this article.

I only play the piano, so, I am unsure if the music is different for other instruments. And you didn’t say what instrument you played, well, anyways. Here are two sites. this site is very descriptive, with a few pictures, and players that allow you to hear what you are learning. this site on the other hand has less words, and more images. But, on this site, it categorizes it by page, examples: “Clefs”, “Time Signatures”, “Types of notes” an so on.

    Hope I helped.
Good luck with your piano playing!
