Shape notes might be a comfortable way to start.

Dyslexia shouldn’t be an issue, but I’ve not read anything about whether it is a factor when reading music.

If you have an instrument, use it to help you learn. This will create a different brain pathway instead of just reading. If you don’t, a piano (including little cheezy electronic ones) could help a lot.

I am currentlty learning to read music now. It takes practice.
I recommend learning the notes names and positions on the staff first. The lines are EGBDF. Make a sentence starting with each letter. A common one is ” Every Good Boy Does Fine.” The spaces are FACE. That spells face hah. Also there are many books and music teachers out there somewhere that can help out if you are willing to put in time and effort.

Learning to read music is easy but it always requires an effort. First thing you must do is understand the value of each figure and the name of the notes in the pentagram. After that an easy way to learn to count is using your fingers, try to feel the tempo and UNDERSTAND what you are doing.
