<a href="http://www.SpeedyMusicReading.com">learn to read music</a>

Depends on what instrument you're looking to learn/read. There aer a bunch of books and videos that help you learn to self teach piano and guitar. If you go to a music store, a bunch of them will also probably have beginner "band" instrument books such as those for clarinets, flutes, oboes, saxiphones, etc. I'm sure Google would also be a big help, and you also might want to check out Youtube for some how to videos that will help you once you learn to read music. If you're going for guitar or piano, you don't even have to learn to read music if you just go from learning chords to watching tutorial videos on how to play certain songs. That's how I did it with both of those instruments, and then I had an instructor/teacher who helped me learn the clarinet, but I also went to music supply stores and they had books that were a big help as well.
