Jenn asked:
Hello! I bought a Spectrum 61 key keyboard several days ago and I have some questions for the experienced. I am familiar with reading notes (I sing) but I am not too sure how to play a bit more complex music. If there is anyone that has information on websites or books or personal experience on the easiest way to start playing more complex music on a 61 key keyboard.
Thanks in advance.

Learn How to Read Music
You just have to start at the beginning Jen, sorry. And you need to study piano, not keyboard. The best book series for you is called THE COMPLETE PIANO PLAYER by KENNETH BAKER (Buy books 2 and 3-Dont buy book one it’s useless!)
You might also find it beneficial to get a book of piano chords, they have pictures in it you can refer to. I’d suggest you take piano lessons. You wont regret it.
If you want to play really well, just stay on one piece of music til you know it with your eyes closed. If you truly want to be brilliant, pick your FAVOURITE song and learn it and then play it once a day for the rest of your life (Brain training) It works.
All the best
