Constructing Walking Jazz Bass Lines Book I Walking Bass Lines – The Blues in 12 keys Bass Tab Edition Video I The following video is provided to assist the bassist to familiarize themselves with some of the rhythmic phrases used in the jazz walking bass vocabulary. The Example is a walking blues medium tempo in the Key of C and is taken from Part 2 of Constructing Walking Jazz Bass Lines Book I – The Blues in 12 keys Bass Tab edition. The examples provide the bass tab and the bass clef directly above. Listen to the track and follow the sheet music, this will enable the bassist to accelerate the learning curve and incorporate the jazz rhythmic language into their playing. It is also an excellent way to transfer the knowledge of bass tab to the task of learning to read music which can open many doors for the professional musician. Enjoy the video.
quentin032000 asked:

I’ve been playing by ear for almost 8 years. I’m good enough to play most songs I want to play just by memorization. I even make tutorials to teach songs to people that don’t know how to read sheet music.
One problem: I don’t know to read sheet music. I know the basis (the notes, the rhythms, the symbols) for the right hand (treble clef). I was wondering if there is a way to easily recognize the notes on the left hand section (bass clef). I’m pretty sure there must be a trick because it would be too hard to master both clefs and to read different notes on different clefs simultaneously.
Any advice ?

The program is designed for the Beginner and Intermediate student of music who cannot sight-read common rhythm durations. It covers; whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes, sixteenth notes, the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth note triplet figures, and thirty second notes. All corresponding rests are also covered. Other rhythmic concepts are also explained including; ties, syncopation, anticipation, and augmentation dots. The program has two sections; an explanation section which shows the various notes on the staff, explains their count and gives audio examples of them against a metronome beat. The second section covers over a dozen examples of the notes used in studies with rests, ties and augmentation dots. Every study is performed on MP3 audio so the student can learn how to properly feel the phrases. NOTE: This program does not cover time signatures outside of regular time, (the lower number as 4). The program can be purchased on the Creative Guitar Studio website as an instant digital product download payable through our shopping cart system supported by PayPal …

candy apple asked:

I am starting to try and get into music seriously. I’m interested in learning how to read and understand it so i can converse with other musicians. I’d like a jump start but also a deeper knowledge. I can’t afford to pay for schooling. What would be some inexpensive ways to learn. I have enjoyed music all my life so I get it on a listeners level. I know maybe more than I think but would appreciate any advise and incite. Thank You
actually I began singing with a band and I want to understand more of whats going on so I can relate better.
